Level_1
Finished adding level_1, along with the new level being added, items, viruses, entities, and mechanics have been added Bellow will be a full change log from the Level_0 to Level_1 updates. Some changes might contradict each other so please check out the 1.1-1.8 updates!
Entities
- Added Hounds
Hounds are fast and will attack you on sight but will halt for a second when they first notice you. Hounds have a chance to infect you or speed up an infection of Caniscontagione. Hounds will not attack facelings. When infected by Caniscontagione you will slowly lose health, hunger, and finally sanity depending on how long you are infected and how long the infection progresses. Hounds can be evaded by dropping/throwing items (left click) which will slow down the hounds
- Added facelings
Added faceling variants: Child, Adult, and Elder. Faceling children are shy and don't like to be seen by the player. Faceling adults don't care about the player and will do their own thing. When a faceling adult is attacked it will become angry and attack its attacker. Faceling elders are curious about the player and will be attracted to them. Facelings can be found on Level 1. Facelings on Level 1 will only be adult, lore accurate. Facelings will now de-agro if they are not attacked for a certain amount of time after being attacked. Facelings health will adjust for their age, child-10, adult-20, elder-15.
- Added scratcher
Scratchers can spawn in 3 different states, Idle, Partoll, and in very rare cases hibernation. Idle scratchers will just stand around. Patrolling scratchers will wander around. Hibernating scratchers will not move or react to any stimuli. When a scratcher comes in contact with a player they will go into a hunt mode. In hunt mode, scratchers will stalk the player striking them occasionally. If you are able to evade the scratcher for long enough they will enter back into patrol mode. If the player attacks the scratcher it will enter into attack mode. In attack mode, the scratcher will chase and attack you aggressively.
- Added Skin-Stealers
Skin-Stealers have a similar hunger system to the player. If the skin stealers' hunger drops too far they will go in search of either the player or other entities. Skin stealers will attack the player and facelings in order to feed. Once the skin stealer has taken enough flesh from its prey it will become docile. If the skin stealer is attacked it will turn hostile on its attacker. If a skin stealer is unable to find prey in time it will go into a raged state and will attack relentlessly
Level
Added Level 1, first floor. Expanded Level 0. Added 2 more noclip points in level 0. Each level has been updated with a darkness level and light sources. Level 0 has a high light level. Level 1 has a low medium light level. Doors can now be found on Level 1 which will lead to Level 2. Whenever you enter a level that has not been made yet you can now choose to return to a level. Level 0 has been expanded.
Gameplay
Added a HUD. added hunger, health, and sanity. loss of hunger affects health. loss of sanity affects hunger. loss of health affects sanity. losing sanity causes visual hallucinations. Right-clicking with the used needle will cause the player to use it. Left-clicking with the used needle will do its attack. Using the used needle has a chance to increase or decrease your health and sanity. If you are infected with Caniscontagione you have a chance to halt or cure yourself by using the needle. Death screen will properly show entities killed, time survived, no-clips completed, and what killed you. HUD now has 4 hotbar slots which each hold one item. ASDW controls added. You can press F to drop items. You can select items in your hotbar by pressing 1,2,3, or 4. Selecting a hot bar that has a consumable will use the consumable. This will only happen for consumables that have a set effect Pressing E will pick up an item. A mouse lock has been requested upon the start of the game. A flashlight will emit a beam of light from the player that illuminates the darkness. The used needle can now both be properly consumed and used as a weapon. The Molotov can now be used as a weapon. The rat can now be consumed properly. All items are able to be collected, but the inventory system is still not active in the live release. Salinity will decrease on level 1 whenever the player is not in a light source, the flashlight will not affect this decrease
Items
Items can now be found on levels that spawn/have items. 16 Items added, these include 1 article of clothing, 3 consumables, 1 weapon, 1 tool, and 10 misc items. Supply crates can be found on Level 1, they spawn randomly and despawn randomly. Some items will give you multiple items, examples being a pile of coins can give you up to 100 coins, a bunch of nails up to 12, a box of crayons up to 24, burnt paper up to 3, etc. The supply box lifespan has been lengthened to 42 seconds. Supply crates will no longer spawn in weird shapes and sizes. Items only being picked up in Hotbar Slot One fixed, all hotbars now work.
Events
Events have been added: Blackout. In a blackout event, all the lights will turn off for a certain amount of time
Additional Additions
Added a small light around the player. Every 10 seconds the game will save its data to your local browser/computer if it is allowed to do so. When the game first loads there is now an intro. When the intro is over players will be sent to a main menu. Players can select to play or load a save. You cannot select play if you already have a save. You can delete your save by holding down SHIFT, CTRL, R in the main menu. You can now double-click the start button to start a new game, this will override your current save! Added discord link https://discord.gg/ahdFQ6WJRC. Itch.io devlog names now include what they are about in the title rather than just #,#. Itch.io page font colors changed for better readability. All entity attacks are linked to the entity. When the player dies you will be told what killed you. Added 3 new pictures to the intro screen, skin stealer, scratcher, and faceling.
Bug Fixed and ChangeLog
The player will now properly die when their health reaches 0. Fixed your inventory not being wiped after starting a new game. Fixed the ability to load up a save where you had 0 or negative health. Mouse will no longer be stuck locked when in the menu's. Insanity hallucinations opacity has been turned down to a maximum of 50%. The time survived is seconds/60, every 60 seconds is counted as 1 hour. Added a function that keeps the player from getting hidden in the darkness. Fixed the walls on the first floor of Level 1 not colliding with the player. Fixed bug with items not being able to be used/consumed. Noclip spots are now 15% more visible. 9 player spawn areas have been added to level 1 (there were none before). A bottle of Almond Water will no longer spawn randomly on Level 1. Fixed the load save button being invisible. Fixed not being able to clear your local save. Fixed the bug of the screen being black when a save is loaded. Fixed the bug of your flashlight beam being black/nonexistent. Fixed the map being zoomed out when loading a save. Fixed items not being in your hotbar when loading a save. Fixed doors spawning on the player. Entities not taking damage have been fixed. The player not taking damage has been fixed. Entities not dying when their health is 0 has been fixed
2.0 HOTFIX
- Changes noclip space opacity to 15%
- Fixed invisible walls being found on level_1
- Fixed the game not loading when the play button is hit
- Increased entity spawn rate by 100%
